Definition: Activism

In addition to the fact that many people donít vote, many simply donít get involved. Still others, typically those with more education and of a higher economic status, become politically active. Many movements begin as grassroots, or localized movements. Some ways people are active include:

2. Campaigning for a candidate

3. Giving time at a local religious center

4. Environmental activism

5. Taking action within the community to help with local problems
