Answer: The reign of the Han was known as a "golden age" because of its great contributions. Some of these advances were in:

1. Government - An effective centralized government with civil service jobs.

2. The invention of paper made from trees. This helped spread learning throughout the region. The Han made great strides in math, botany, acupuncture, and astronomy,

3. Farming Equipment – Creation of the wheelbarrow, iron tools, and drainage systems.
