Definition: Espionage (1917) and Sedition Act (1918)

Espionage Act - threatened long prison sentences for disrupting the armed forces, or the draft which was created by the Selective Service Act of 1917.

Sedition Act - targeted leftists who were against the War. The act made it illegal to speak out negatively against the government.
