1. Restored optimism.

2. Put an estimated 5 million people to work.

3. Although it expanded the federal government, it never broke away from democracy.

4. The government attempted to provide for the people rather than wait for the economy to take care of itself.

5. Certain programs, like TVA, SEC, FDIC, and Social Security, are still around today.
