Definition: Boston Massacre 1770

Violence in Boston! A protest against British rule and taxes leads a mob to the street. They hurl snow balls and rocks at the British troops. The troops fire guns, killing Bostonians such as Crispus Attucks (a free black). John Adams successfully defends the British troops in court. The event displays the escalating tensions in the area.
