Confucianism

The two major Chinese philosophies are Confucianism and Daoism (or Taoism). Daoism involves harmony of nature and following "the way." Many Daoist ideas can be found in the Tao Te Ching. To the left is "The Temple of Heaven," a magnificent and colorful temple in southern Beijing. It is considered to be Taoist, although Chinese heaven worship predates it here. The Chinese Emperor ruled by divine right, and sacrificed and prayed for good harvests.

As for Confucianism, as mentioned above, major ideas include harmony, goodness, filial piety, and the five relationships: 1) Father and son. 2) Husband and wife. 3) Elder and younger brothers. 4) Ruler and subject. 5) Friend and friend.)
