Question: What Egyptian Kingdoms should I know? (scroll down for answer)       Answer: The 31 Egyptian dynasties are divided into several kingdoms. Though not imperative to know them all, here are the kingdoms from c2600BC-1000BC. Subsequent dynasties existed until the fourth century BC. The Old Kingdom was strong, but diminished in power. After a weak First Intermediate Kingdom, pharaohs grew stronger in the Middle Kingdom. Invaders known as the Hyksos took over Egypt during the Second Intermediate Kingdom.
