Plague/Black Death
Approximately
one-third of Europe’s population died of this dreaded disease. The
plague was believed to be first brought to Italy c1350, and then it
spread to the entire world. Although it at first led to greater
faith in religion, the plague ultimately hurt the prestige of the
Church as prayers went unanswered. The plague further weakened the
feudal system.
