Question: What were the ancient Native American people? (scroll down for answer)         Answer: During the Ice Age, people came over a land bridge known as Beringia that connected Asia to North America (Alaska). These migrant people settled and populated what would be known as The New World. They lived as hunters and gatherers, and were especially good farmers. They grew maize (corn) in particular.
