Answer:
1. It spread from
India to other parts of Asia, specifically China. (Note: In Japan,
the ancient
religion was Shintoism, which meant
"the way of the gods." This religion meant worshipping ancestors, and nature.)
2. Buddhism is
similar to Hinduism, but there is no caste system.
3. The Mahayana sect
allowed others to become Buddhas. They also wanted to allow all
people, not just monks, to worship. This opened up the religion to
more people.
4. The Theravada sect
believed in interpreting the old teachings of Buddha.
5. Through trade,
Buddhism spread to China, Korea, Japan, and Indonesia.
