The Little Rock Nine ... To understand
the controversy surrounding Little Rock, we must first examine what
happened in Topeka Kansas in 1954.This is Central High School in
Little Rock, Arkansas. The media of the country focused on the
violence here, when 9 students attempted to go to school, and were met
by mobs of protestors. Governor Faubus called in the Arkansas Guard, but
President Eisenhower had the final say
as Commander in Chief, and enforcer of laws.
