Traditional Incan Culture
The ancient culture still
exists today in the mountains
of Peru. Women wear traditional clothing and do the same things in
society they have
done for centuries. Below are some of the hand-woven materials-- check
out the right-hand side. Local dyes for threads are made out of plants
in the Andes. The
Andes are the drugstores,
clothing stores, and food stores for the natives.
The market place remains a
major fixture in the Peruvian culture. The Pisac market, bottom right,
is packed with people and salespeople.
Below is another
local market ... you can see a pack of llamas for sale. Also, notice
how dogs are running wild.
The guy on the
right was given a lot of material goods because his property was on
the ancient site of Ollayantambo.
However, the man didn't want the western goods, and instead lives low
maintenance lifestyle. For some reason, he was waving a Canadian flag
at me.
Guinea pigs are a
